Gomez Bravo

Liposuction is not therefore a treatment for obesity, nor a substitute for a weight loss regimen, but a method to eliminate localized fatty deposits that do not respond to diet or exercise.

Dr. Bravo employs an innovative technique known as SAFELipo™, which has achieved great popularity in the US thanks to its great results, more dramatic than those possible with other liposuction procedures.

Liposuction Phases

SAFELipo™ (Separation, Aspiration and Fat Equalization), a surgical method described by Dr. Simeon Wall Jr. (Louisiana, USA), consists of three steps:

  • In the first stage of separation, adipose cells are mechanically separated from each other and from neighbouring blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. In order to do so, a special cannula with a basket shape at the tip is used to liberate the adipocytes, reducing the adherence and resistance of the fat deposits and emulsifying its fatty content.
  • In the following stage of aspiration, the fat is extracted in a liquefied form through low suction power with fine cannulas.
  • Lastly, in the fat equalization stage, a specific cannula is used to form a fine and uniform subcutaneous layer of liquified fat, in order to obtain natural results, minimising the risk of developing irregularities postoperatively.

Liposuction

A liposuction or liposculpture is a surgical procedure that corrects an excess of localized fat, generally occurring in the waist, flanks, back, arms, inner thighs, hips, knees and ankles, in order to restore the silhouette and body contour, and to achieve a more proportional and lean figure.
